the following work is inspired by my experiences in pakistan and turkey. i explore escapism in artwork and its styles through antiques, objects, jewelry, and moments.

hookah from the ottoman empire, topkapi palace

pastel and charcoal on paper

oil on canvas, 18” x 24”

a moment watching a zikr performance in Hunza, North Pakistan. the style of painting is meant to emphasize its experience as a moment in time. whole, yet nevertheless, fleeting.

Zikr is a tradition of Sufi Islamic chants to honor Allah using instruments such as the rabab and drum.

pastel on paper, 6” x 4”

my locket done in a quick 10 minute drawing
